TLDR on the FC Dev Survey from a few weeks ago:

Documentation was the biggest pain point for folks, so the team has spent time re-writing the docs site & is starting to merge it in

Will have diff sections for learning & for devs to go deep

*Should* be updated at docs.farcaster.xyz next week

Hub Replicator -- also came up on the dev survey

Actively triaging and working on issues this week, should be sharing a more concrete plan in the next few days

v1 would be simple auth through Warpcast -- they'll run a central FC Connect server(open source), will deploy with that and npm packages in a new monorepo(linked to in the Notion)

note: v1 is just sign *in* with Farcaster, which has no signer and doesn't exist yet today

Hoping to get the `@farcaster/connect` package out before the holidays, will include a plug and play <Connect /> component in React

Warpcast Updates -- Direct Casts

Moving to unencrypted DCs to launch quickly on web (ETA: December) 

Will revisit encryption once Google Chrome and other browsers support passkeys

Warpcast Updates -- Invites

You'll be able to invite users with Warps soon(maybe next week) -- pays for their signup process

Lets you:
- make their signup experience easy
- will be a *little* cheaper(no CC payment with Apple Pay, price will be closer to $8 than $12 bc/ of no App Store costs)

Warpcast Updates -- Channel Improvements

Whole set of new channel UI improvements this week, working on making them better and then ultimately permissionless

Want to make them feel a bit more fun and not as 'boxed in', but also letting channel users/owners go deeper when they want to

Once those UI improvements come out, they want to make channels permissionless

Will be a fee in warps to create a channel and they'll have an offchain namespace

Can set a description, code of conduct, certain rules etc. You get to curate it, grow it, get folks to follow it

Channel features that are specific to Warpcast(not permissionless)
- Boosts
- Leads
- Channel follows

Way thinking about it: shipping new features at protocol level is very expensive, but social features tend to evolve very quickly

Wanna iterate quickly and get to stable channels point, then make it permissionless

Note: Last dev call of the year

Next FC release on 12/27: no major updates, mostly bug fixes. New version of Hubble(v 1.9) will be pushed out
