– All channels will now have members and only members can post (write), channels are still public to read, no change to channel followers

– Channels will only have one, reverse chronological feed now that only contains casts from members, no spam filtering, mods can manually hide individual casts from members

– Members have to be invited by channel owner or mods (can have up to 10 mods now), owner and mods can also remove members

This feels like a measured improvement for hosts trying to find and encourage good content & discussions.

Will the allowlist maintenance be annoying? Seems manageable with 10 mods and a simple in or out option. 

I wonder how it'll work in more generic channels like this one.

I suspect generic channels will have a harder time vs. more focused channels will do much better.
