"Merkle just helps its friends" How many times do I have to repeat that most users and developers on Farcaster did not know Varun or myself prior to joining Farcaster. And in some cases have *become* friends because they stuck around early on when no one else cared. We've spent years with this people socializing on this social network. :) Don't conflate something that's earned / built with cronyism.

I lose brain cells every time I read another piece like the ones written by @artlu @ghostlinkz.eth @geoffgolberg Like pls just write about what your concrete proposed solutions are. Everyone here knows what the problems are. You're not some gigabrains revealing the lost city of Atlantis to an unsuspecting population

fwiw, I am fine with thoughtful criticism and don't expect solutions (solutions are hard, it's our job to come up with them). Where I lose interest is making claims that false or intentionally bad faith.

Yeah but the solutions are where most of the hard work is. Criticizing is just lazy. Even well thought out criticism. Criticism + solution is where the real meaningful learning can happen on both sides. And Iโ€™m as guilty as anyone of doing just criticizing. God knows Iโ€™ve prob done it more than the 3 I tagged put together. Still the point remains.

Again, there's minimal incentive for others to come up with solutions. Nor do we expect anyone else to. It's our job to get the network to scale and sustainability. We're far from that point. So we just keep trying to make week over week progress.

Ofc there is incentive. Rising tide lifts all boats. These are the people that say they care about the network. For the record I genuinely believe they do. They care enough to investigate. They have solutions Iโ€™m sure. Those solutions prob wonโ€™t work. But still expressing them might lead us all to getting to a workable solution faster. Which results in the network growing. Which results in more value to everyone in the network. Thatโ€™s the whole point of crypto and decentralization. You shouldnโ€™t expect anyone to come up with solutions ofc not. But the incentive is there. The future is there for the taking.
