Once the network is permissionless:

- every spam bot has to pay $5 to the protocol

- clients will be free to hide the content (despite it existing on the protocol)

- current Hub design should scale to ~10 million storage slots ($50 million a year to protocol)

I expect there to be an increase in spam in the short term, clients will implement reasonable anti-spam filters and then less of an issue.

Longer term:
- protocol may increase yearly cost
- Hubs will likely implement sharding to scale beyond 10 million storage slots
