Upcoming channel changes We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback. These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. Seems like things are becoming Reddit around here. Not sure how I feel about all this and I honestly think this is MORE work for mods, not less.

You're saying people have to be manually invited now instead of them just finding the channel and hitting follow? That's more work, but I guess moderation of the casts themselves should theoretically go down.

1. Anyone can follow the channel 2. If you want to cast in a channel (only a small % of people do that), you have to be a member.

Right so that requires a moderator to manually invite you. Could also mean moderators getting a lot of DMs to facilitate this.

Right, but we have a message request inbox already there. If you make the button 1-click, you'll massively increase the number of requests. So should be less work (because there's a bit more friction).
