casting just became the opposite of frictionless.

1. Everyone can cast in their own timeline, goes out to your followers 2. If you're not a member of channels, you don't even see the UI 3. People who find another person interesting will inevitably get invited to channels.

i used different channels to reach new people. now, i have to take extra steps to cast in some of those channels or even accept the invites manually. casting on my own timeline is an option, but it doesnβt help me reach a wider audience. so what i'm saying is that it has become more complicated to cast stuff, as it now involves a few more steps.

Hear you. We tried using channels to allow people to reach a wider audience and it didn't work well. Too much spam, made channel pages uninteresting. So trying a new model with more friction, but hopefully leads to more meaningful communities.

For casts I totally get your point. But what about me being afraid to reply to my friends now?π₯²

i also agree β channels were full of spam, and moderating/hiding those casts was tough. itβs just a hard pill to swallow for me atm, but definitely understand that it could help foster more meaningful conversations within channels!
