A note on "permanent" spam labels If you ignore the warning and get the spam label, it won't be removed until you show a long period of good behavior. This maybe several weeks or months until we re-evalaute your account and you've posted enough so that we know you're not spammy. (we are still building this system so its effectively permanent for now)

How do already labeled accounts get out? Accounts that we know personally, or friends we brought that have been labeled? Vouching for a real human would be nice. Nice work regardless

vouching is something we will add in the future. the problem is that spammers operate in rings and will vouch for each other, so we need some way to prevent that.

Allow vouches only from people with a certain level of social capital. (A high threshold where it won’t be possible for a spammer to achieve)

That's likely the direction we will go, but what happens when someone with high social capital vouches for someone and they start acting spammy again. Do the person vouching get dinged?

Yes, the person should get dinged. I think you should take away their ability to vouch for a time period.

Yes, they're vouching for them, so they should lose cred if it backfires. Otherwise they'll keep doing it. Maybe on a sliding scale (lose a little cred the first time it happens and more with frequency)? Maybe they cant vouch for the person a second time?

How do you do that currently with that with spam reports? Guess some spam reports by high social capital have more weight compared to lower social capital? Are you evaluating trigger happy high social capital and taking away their spam reporting powers?

imo social capital could be controversial… If there are other ideas that would be nice. It feeds into the “hierarchical” nature of WC
