Edit casts opp has to be a top priority for all of us ESL users (and not only). You guys literally have no idea how exposed we are without this option. I’m always 100% worried about saying something incorrectly and looking dumb. It’s a me problem more than anything but it is extremely hard not to be self-conscious about using the dominant language of this platform. Add folks with dyslexia/dysgraphia and adhd to the mix. People want to use Farcaster freely without worrying about stupid grammar errors and typos. I understand the argument behind “nothing should be changed on blockchain”, but if really needed, we can always pull up the history of onchain transactions/edits. Making all users comfortable casting here is way more important than some bs high concept blockchain ideology imo.

It’s a typo when you’re American and it’s “learn the language or go back to your country” when you’re not. I wouldn’t expect you to actually understand my point, and that’s fine, but a little empathy would’ve been nice. You do you - you’re the boss.

OK, a typo is fine. A poorly worded cast is something different not solved by edit?

Edit can totally salvage some of the poorly worded casts if it’s actually just grammar/phrasing. Quite often cleaning up the root cast is worth it if the cast’s subject triggers a compelling discussion.

Beyond a letter or two, it’s just delete and rewrite the cast? I do it all the time.

Works if it you make this decision right away before anyone engages with the cast. Otherwise you’re risking erasing a “cozy corner” or smth with a cozy corner potential… especially since we don’t have a chrono feed 🙃 No guarantee that a deleted/rephrased/recasted thought will be seen by the same users or anyone at all tbh Look, I get why you don’t wanna do it, (implementation difficulties, blockchain philosophy etc) - none of this is easy. Totally understandable. But there is no way on Earth you can convince me and others like me that this is not important and we should be just deleting/rewriting if we’re not happy. It’s not a priority for you - cool - I can live with it but I will keep complaining bc I think the platform, the users, and me personally will benefit from this change.
