I don’t get all complaining about Twitter moving to a subscription model. Assume it’s mostly Elon bad, so new thing Elon does is bad. The product will improve if the default experience is you only see subscribers.

You don't get or you don't share the same view as the people complaining? Very different things. Cos there are plenty of valid reasons why it's IMO the start of the end for that platform. We're moving away from centralised stuff, slowly but surely this will take over.

His track record includes popularizing electric vehicles and achieving reusability of orbital rockets. As someone competing against him every day, I would prefer for him to be running a different software business. :)

Yes, his companies have achieved a lot, no denying that, but his personal track record as a manager of people (which is kind of what twitter is, or at least how he sees himself) isn't his strong suit. You can't charge people for social media and expect it to be revolutionary, YOU my friend are the future.

Those goals he's achieved, and they are impressive, don't rely on people liking him, or him being popular, often the contrary. But I just don't think social media works that way, I think it would have worked , maybe just 5 years ago, but decentralised is where everything will head eventually
