Why don’t you import ENS from the connected addresses rather than manual input?

You need to create a proof.

If we auto-import, someone can send an offensive ENS to your address.

Ok that makes sense but still ENS names can be verified to be check with the connected address

Good point - also, @takeshi - for people with multiple ENS names in a wallet, it would be difficult to decern which ENS address to auto-import as the farcaster username / identity.
