What are your thoughts on “product studios” recently emerging more and more? ie companies rapidly prototyping/shipping different ideas instead of going deep on any single one

Skeptical. Some examples of medium-sized success, very few (I can't think of any off the top of my head) that are enduring companies. Mike Speiser and Sutter Hill Ventures is the exception. cc @alok who has encyclopedic knowledge of this stuff

the best product studios usually turn into a single great company that emerges (that is also eventually run by the entrepreneur that started the studio). examples include Affirm, Ring, possibly Uber (depending on your definition of studio). VC incubations can work too but i consider that something entirely different.
