Idle thought: 1. Hacked social media account + deepfakes will be used to fake a coup 2. Cryptographic signatures from a Secure Enclave associated with a public profile on another service provider will be a quick way to refute

Signature to verify it's you, I understand. But how can signature be used to refute? "That's not me." Signed by TheDeepfakedPerson?

This is already a thing but with different names and less advanced tech. Deepfake voice pretending to be a bank asks older people for 2FA. Banks utilize biometrics (fingerprint, iris, input device, location) to detect for fraud.

make sure that the enclave is secure and doesn't export keys at shards to third-party providers 🫠

Yes, it is impossible to prove data as fact - But, with a signature from trusted source you can at least make your own interpretation of fact based on verifiable data. We’ve added VCs to MetaMask with Snaps - now building the enterprise side with agents deployed to the cloud for creating, signing, verifying.

Past a certain point a fake coup just becomes a coup Essentially bootstrapping the collective action problem of disgruntled would-be dissidents

Makes me wonder, will Nation / States eventually declare a public key for official Public communications?

seems to me advanced nation-states US/China/Russia are all incentivized not to set this up. maybe makes sense for smaller + tech advanced, like Taiwan or Estonia there's a meta-problem of how do you prove the proof. Plenty of people already truly believe no moon landing, birds are not real, election was stolen, etc.
