if you have a free app in crypto and you say you have N users, then it means nothing and it looks weak.

1) only active users matter
2) there‘s an incredible amount of bots and your free users could be 99% bots.

Genuinely curious how you would discount followers based on free sign ups on Twitter vs. paid sign ups on Farcaster?

We haven't had free registration for a while now (we experimented and turned off). Few total # of accounts used that.

Core difference is a "bot" (fwiw, likely a lot of real people with Android devices doing low effort stuff) pays protocol money vs. Twitter $0.

being a bot thus far easily covered the registration fees with memecoin farming, so although twitter may be free to sign up to and farcaster costs, still more worthwhile to bot here.

Beyond that there are bot farms with access to bulk phone nrs that could use either coinbase or warpcast's free registration
