Reading through the comments. Interesting that crypto people are deterred by the onboarding flow designed to hide crypto rails and appeal to normies: Why use an email, why pay with fiat, I don't own my keys, etc. (I don't think that the $5, or is it $3 now, would discourage them, that's the cost of a "free mint"). If we accept that Warpcast is the default client, maybe it should be easier to onboard these users in ways they feel comfortable with ("Mint your farcaster ID, it costs ETH 0.002, copy your private key, etc.") and also get the premium experience offered by WC.

If there was a meaningfully market for crypto only onboarding, someone would have built and maintained a client for it (and the growth would be obvious).

It’s not black or white. And it’s practically impossible to use Farcaster without Warpcast, even if your default client is not Warpcast. I don’t have the data to support that this is a direction worth following and maybe it’s not, but the argument “if it was worth it someone would have done it” is not valid.

If we have 10 million DAU, people will compete against Warpcast.

I hope it’s clear I want Farcaster to get there too :-)
