Whenever I interact with otherwise smart people who think NFTs are dumb I think of this quote:

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”

Do they think NFTs the tech primitive are dumb, or the popularized PFP use case?

They seem incapable of separating those two concepts

The weirdest of all are the convos with people who get open data.

Me: NFTs are an open, permissionless, composable key-value schema used by millions
Them: Yeah, but Tim Berners-Lee has a better idea.
Me: That nobody implemented, but if they did, it’s one IPO away from getting shut down?
Them: But Bitcoin

Stupidity seems to boil down to a lack of critical and nuanced thinking. If you can only ever see things in black and white you’ll always be on the wrong side of something.
