Best service host your own email?

I've used Fastmail in the past. Currently on G Suite.

Late reply, but I've had some bad experiences with fastmail, lost all trust. (Thread: https://twitter.com/shazow/status/1021570521987731458)

My go-to recommendation is protonmail these days, surprisingly competitive offering and much more values-aligned.

I've been using Migadu's micro plan ($19/year ~unlimited domains) for my personal and project domains. G Suite for my startup (mostly to make Meet recordings). No issues with Migadu in 3+ years, although G seems better catching spam. Also I think these day's iCloud+ includes custom domains these days as well.
