Most people just stick to the home feed and notifications.

Most people don't want to do work.

the one issue that I am watching to be solved is discoverability for channels.

need people really going to view the channel feed vs just homefeed.

Not sure if channel clients or webpages are enough to change that behaviour. 

Interested to see new mod opportunities make feeds more pleasant. /dev suffered from that

If you can't explain simply, people won't sign up

why pitch? invite first adopters, show examples

this is great. do you think this is best suited for people who are already running a community elsewhere or someone creating a new community here?
