We're moving DC convos to a max 1 year history before expiring old messages. 

Indefinite storage for DC convos makes scaling and decentralization harder.

Ok, does that mean that if I conversation has new and 1+ year old parts that the old parts get cut but the new parts remain or is the whole conversation going to be removed?
