I'd like to bring back my suggestion in case it was missed. A channels NFT contract, with nouns-like 1/day auctions: Whoever wins the auction gets to set the channel details. - Objective measure of effort and desire :-) - It may even bring together groups of like-minded people before the channel is created.

Fair. Just saying that the auction process may stir up things. Like NFT communities or fans of a specific topic bidding for their channel, and then being more active in it compared to what they would have been otherwise.
