Interesting feedback on building on top of FC. Itโs hard to fault their logic - having a massive dependency on and early stage startup is essentially taking a double bet, especially for building a full client. Remains to be seen if niche clients like Buoy and Crew can be profitable.

The dependency is on the Farcaster daily active user growth rate which has been Merkleโs top priority since going permissionless last year. Developers need a big enough TAM, so we have to deliver on that to make Farcaster worth high opportunity cost time.

Would you reconsider "win crypto first"? This isn't like facebook going after college campuses. Winning crypto first has a high risk of pigeon holing the entire vibe of farcaster to crypto. Why not go try to win subreddit by subreddit, community by community so that the kind of content here starts to diversify?

Is this an example of conflict between creating both the platform and an app on the platform? Winning crypto first is likely a good strategy for Warpcast, but a larger diversity of audience might be better for people writing niche apps on FC. Personally I think there is a way to thread the needle, but itโs tough!

There isnโt one, but I think energy should be focused on creating that sooner rather than later to avoid being trapped and stalling out in crypto years down the line Best incentives today are channels, direct monetization for mods via crypto, censorship resistance, graph portability
