We have more nodes than Ethereum and probably more than 100x gossip volume. 

So 13k hubs is starting to cause some minor issues. We will fix these up , but getting rid of hubs that aren’t useful to anyone will give us more breathing room to do that

Would fix the number of nodes if you need a minimum stake to run a node and get other staked peers.

(Though it would have counterproductive effects on the decentralization model has chosen. Plus staking without slashing would basically be solana lol.)
