1/ The plan for channels 1. We launched channels in June 2023 with /farcon and /purple. We've done a bunch of experiments since then. 2. We're optimistic about channels being *the thing* for Farcaster, i.e. why Farcaster is not just a decentralized Twitter clone 3. We're still rapidly iterating on channels...

Turns out channels need more native functionality like following, mods (we call them hosts), moderation and other future features...

3/ ...that we're going to be experimenting with over the next few months. 5. If if we get conviction on channels being *the thing* that drives growth for Farcaster, we'll work on codifying what we've learned from the centralized, Warpcast-centric version of channels into a decentralized Farcaster protocol version.

4/ 6. When that will be? Not sure! Know it when you see it type situation. 7. Additionally, all channel content is already on the protocol and neynar.com has mapped all the channels to make it easier for other developers to integrate. That said, part of keeping speed of iteration high...

5/ ...is being able to make breaking changes on channels and not have too many other parties to get to migrate. 8. So we'll continue to keep developers posted on what we're doing at the bi-weekly dev calls, but ultimately the primitive is changing (in a good way since it's trying to significantly grow protocol DAU).
