Well if you look at trending most of it is pretty bland and just pumped because they’re OG’s. Have you tested boosting various accounts vs. the og builders? I find plenty of interesting content but that’s also very subjective

I tend to agree. @ace did bring up an interesting point the other day though. Having at least 1 good friend tends to improve retention. Maybe we could focus the new user flow towards places where people will be more likely to meet that 1 good friend.

Shotgun approach. Onboard as many people as possible in hopes that a fraction of them post interesting and entertaining content. If the goal is to onboard non-crypto natives, then is suppressing crypto content as a default going to be necessary at some point? Lure them in, then crypto pill them.

Do you think it's because a lot of sign ups here are financially driven, and a lot of the protocols building on top of Farcaster don't necessarily go out of their way to reward authentic engagement and content? (hence all the bots and bot-like interactions which I'm sure everyone has been seeing more of lately)

its not about the content, its because all new accounts are shadow banned or nerfed or whatever you want to call it. i have spoken about this so many times, all the people i have onboarded into warpcast complain that nobody reads them, even when when they do reply the original caster doesn't get a notification and has no idea about the conversation. new users feel like they are being ignored and they dont like it. thats a fact, not an opinion. last week i created a couple accounts replied to my account and not only i did not get a notification i cant see the comments...

While probably not a representation of the majority's opinion, I am here now because of the ratio between quality content and web3 tech focused content vs other shenanigans. If I want to read some mindless polarised opinions I can go to reddit. If I want to read bots and airdrop hunters repeating the same message, I can go to X. FC is the only place rn where the ratio between real quality people and mindless bots or opportunists is still in favour of the former. My retention here is as good as it can get, adding more people in has a risk of inviting the typical airdorp hunter crowd or these guys that just comment "good project" and share every single post by company where their bags are.
