Talking to people close to the policymaking process, this is the crux of the issue for progressives. Other than Elizabeth Warren, bipartisan pov that Gensler is not doing a good job.

Most of the progressives in tech I've talked to that are anti-crypto are so because they believe the government should have total control of all monetary systems. I don't think most politicians would admit as much, but if you successfully take away all the superficial criticisms, this is what you'll be left with.
