IMHO, it’s really important for Farcaster as a protocol to distance itself from both Coinbase and Base (a centralized L2), remain chain-agnostic, and actively promote this alongside its decentralized nature. I know many will scratch their heads at me saying this here, but someone has to.

Our core protocol contracts are on OP Mainnet. Frames work with any EVM chain. Base is just hungry and have embraced Farcaster.

thank you for making this clear, dan. i've been trying to get people outside the FC circles to understand that Farcaster is not fundamentally Base-centric, i.e. the protocol is driven by decentralization and the urge to decentralize, but the perception of the Base connection seems established.

their main social platform is x and they're reading more than they post. it's a mix of ppl working on fintech/db tech/distributed sys/crypto. only some are crypto native whereas others have been observing from the sidelines. it appears to me that if one consumes x only, the impression is that fc is a base/cb product
