Feeling the consensus over consumer friendliness vs decentralization shift too far for my liking recently (even beyond farcaster)

Let’s be pragmatic and remember why we are here. Nobody said building better, more resilient systems was going to be easy

You don’t get credit for decentralization if people don’t use it.

Bluesky is a good example here. Way less decentralization, way more consumer traction. And they can always improve their decentralization over time (which I believe they will do).

i agree with your sentiment. we've seen it shift from not caring about consumer ux at all (bad) to everyone becoming aware of consumer ux (good) to people cutting corners in the name of consumer ux (bad)
