I would use an Amazon competitor that was 100% made in USA. Can't use it for everything of course (esp. electronics), but would be my default place to start a search.

(Would be OK expanding to EU and Japan and any other country known for more expensive but high-quality.)

don't disagree with the idea, but why predicate quality on country of origin? would be nice to have a more robust indicator of quality so anyone who wants to produce at that quality has the option, or no?
