They have $3B+ in subscription revenue, so they have some wiggle room (may be even higher now).

But seems like Zuck is determined to scorch earth foundational model value with open source. Also their partnership with Apple seems tenuous.

I think EV+ is they end up making it through, but going to be challenging given all of the incumbents have pivoted hard into AI and they have pre-existing, default disitribution.

My tinfoil theory is they basically have AGI or are close enough. But the level of turmoil it would cause markets (and everything else) means the US gov is telling them (through Larry) to chill for a bit.

So their focus is on planning how to operate in post agi world or figuring out how far ASI is from AGI.
