What 100% permissionless Farcaster means specifically:

- Ability to sign up directly interfacing with the contracts on OP Mainnet

- Users have freedom to use a client of their choice

- Developers have full access to data / APIs / global state via Hubs

- Zero dependencies on Warpcast

Protocol charges $7 a year for access to Hubs. Paid to protocol directly.

Warpcast as a client will offer ways to manage your Farcaster account and charge a small convenice fee. Eventually would like to have features that people find valuable for a subscription.

Permissionless != free :)

There’s a storage contract on OP Mainnet to pay to access limited space on Hubs. Just like you have to pay to access limited space on Bitcoin or Ethereum.

People are free to fork Hubs and not use a smart contract. Just won’t be in the canonical version of the network.

Not sure I understood. What is the protocol? A smart contract? But it’s permission-less? The platform would be paid-only?
