Will FC ever get past the Insiders only phase and become desirable for the general public without resorting to the funny money carrot on a stick to onboard them? How many years will it be a builders club?

For better for worse, we're tied to sentiment about crypto. I suspect nearly all of these people would reject Farcaster because it's "crypto". Need to focus on cryptonatives.

For better! Onchain is farcasterβs super powers People can gab anywhere. They can only participate in SocialFi on farcaster. And this will explode on bull marketβ¦

Not having to satisfy non-cryptonatives is a gift. Increasingly other socials will want to do what FC clients can do, but will only serve some of their users, and confuse or piss off the rest of them if they do.

@robin found the opposite about moshi when talking to college students. They donβt mind the onchain. It matters how itβs communicated and even talking to people at DevCon many donβt really hear about Farcaster or just heard about it here and there

we can be tech/innovation forward without focusing solely on crypto social. onboarding academics could widen the scope

True, and I totally get that we can't force our way into the mainstream. I guess then the question becomes how will the wider internet become crypto native? This builders club seems to be the forefront of usability experiments. Will FC builders spearhead wider adoption? Or will we merely be there waiting for the day that widespread crypto adoption comes to pass?
