When you say webapp, are you including PWAs? I’m interested in making a client but feel like it only makes sense if it can do token-gating, which Apple doesn’t allow.

It's unclear to me that any consumer PWAs achieved retained users.

I am by far the most technical in my non IT friend group and none of them use anything but mobile apps on mobile. Even IT friends only 2/10 leverage PWAs

IMO the main reason for this is devs don't bother building the UX to guide users to install the PWA because it hasn't historically been worth the tradeoffs. But for some apps it makes sense now and Friend.tech showed its possible to get users to do it. But I agree being able to sideload is ideal.
