Is there any other reason you think FC isn't suited for deep discussion other than cast length limit?

discourse is just a whole other vibe. it’s not meant for quick consumption and pot shot relies like a microblogging medium

interdasting! could an fc client in theory mimic everything that discourse is? down to the layout

FC’s success depends less upon replacing every comms software with FC clients and more upon convincing powerful communities to adopt Farcaster in addition to whatever sw they already like.

“stop using what’s already working and try our half assed competitor” is not a compelling onboarding pitch

I didn't have a strong opinion on this in either direction. Was just trying to play with the ideas. 

You're right though, at least in the short term, with folks who already use Discourse. I'm just not sure that an FC Discourse-like client has no chance at being better than Discourse in the long term.

But there's another cohort that might enjoy an FC client even in the short to medium term: Those who've never used Discourse but have a latent need for a space to have deep discussion.
