removing the cost for real users to join and contribute to the network is an existential problem farcaster needs to solve

most people don't pay for social media - doesn't matter if it's $1 or $10 - it's not something they're used to

this is also an existential problem for apps building on farcaster

If you remove cost, you have infinite spam.

If you gate sign ups, it's not permissionless.

Warpcast has tried a couple of large, reasonably scaled experiments with free sign ups and the long term retention rate is basically 0.

Ok. Q. Can we pay with crypto before the year end?

1. As a developer, you can pay with crypto directly to the contract. 

2. Another client is free to build crypto onboarding. Our sense is only will pay with crypto but is a consumer not a developer (and not get an invite from someone) is niche.

I am talking about the normal user not a Dev. Also to native warpcaste. 

Some countries have some regulations with fiat payments with credit cards. That's why me and some other folks joined late.

If the team added crypto payment instead of just credit card payment I think this will help.
