Well, God bless the Base πŸ’° Coinbase does not aim to create a token because Base earns fees for sequencing txs. For each txs on an L2, a small fee is paid to the sequencer, which in this case is Coinbase. Annual revenue could be around $360M per year. However, there is a risk of unfair centralization. Sad but true

Well, about Optimism and Base Optimism is interested in the development of Base. Agreements are monetary obligations: ”Tx proceeds from Base will be split and directed to the OP through an contract. Specifically, the greater of 2.5% of Base's total sequencer revenue, or 15% of Base’s net onchain sequencer revenue"
