Why is it important? Because it makes crypto as easy to use as Instagram. No more fees that make you cry over your bank account. On Ethereum, fees (or "gas fees") can be a real headache. During periods of high activity, a simple transaction can cost tens, even thousands of dollars. Imagine paying $50 in fees to send $20 to a friend , that's sometimes the reality on Ethereum. These high fees make small transactions complicated. Base changes the game by drastically reducing these fees. We're talking about fees going from several dollars to under a few cents, with the possibility of those fees being free.
