Squats should be everyones best leg workout. They are hard for a reason and will overall give you the best legs you can possibly get plus you engage your core which is the source of all your strength, stability and stamina.

I believe most workout engages your core too Squats are definitely good and everyone should do them, but dem leg extensions hit legs more

Leg extensions isolate the legs more and you dont use much of your core as you would cause you are Sitting, its designed to make you target just your quads or hamstrings. Infact all these compound workouts that are hard are the best. Squats, bench press, pullups and dead lifts. They should never be replaced by cables and machines, only supplemented by them💪
