I replied "fasc1nate on X to join farcaster, but they didn't reply, might start stealing content 💀 "It’s widely believed that human meat doesn’t taste good, but they only spread that rumor because it’s a taboo that can’t be crossed." Issei Sagawa was a minor celebrity in his native Japan. He wrote some 20 books, appeared on talk shows and made money on the lecture circuit. He even worked as a food critic for a Japanese magazine. And all of his fame comes from his one horrific crime — the killing, dismembering, and cannibalization of a woman named Renée Hartevelt in Paris in 1981. To the day he died, decades after he escaped justice on a technicality, he talked openly of his overwhelming urges to eat "young, beautiful women"
