hypothetically, any project that takes money from 80 people and gives it to 20 people can make quite a number of people money. Some concrete reasons: - how much value goes to the community versus how much value gets eaten by the project - winners and losers decided by an opaque algo - the complexity didn't work? it mostly just masked flaws that people might have otherwise identified more easily - poisoned the well with pay-for-play My opinion only. Others have different perspectives on it.
