While I understand that the military industrial complex has an incentive to push for war in the short term, it seems to me that there is a limit to the extent to which they (it?) would push for war.

If WW3 ensues and global economies are ruined and currencies are inflated to worthlessness, then it is not clear to me how the military industrial complex has benefitted.
