After changing jobs, I started experiencing significant stress, which led to fatigue and sleep problems. To cope, I began having a glass of wine every night, but it gradually escalated to whiskey. Over time, I found myself constantly tired, losing focus at work, and struggling with procrastination and a sense of helplessness. Realizing something had to change, I visited a doctor, who explained that while alcohol might seem to help with sleep, it actually reduces sleep quality and, in my case, had also negatively affected my liver function. Alarmed, I decided to quit drinking and followed my doctor's advice to focus on healthier ways to relieve stress. Instead of obsessing over sleep, I've been reading, listening to music, taking warm baths, enjoying my favorite pastries, and drawingโdoing one activity each day that brings me happiness. I'm now committed to staying alcohol-free and hope others can recognize the signs early and find the strength to quit drinking as well. 6 replies
