I wonder if Americans will do anything when Trump inevitably escalates to suggesting actual physical violence against Canada and Mexico or if they’ll continue to do nothing.

Probably not. By then they will pass some sort of regulation banning protests or smth similar. Classical Russian playbook. Unfortunately
