accelerationism as a concept does feel like it comes from the headspace of the kids in the back of the minivan on a family road trip: β€œare we there yet? are we there yet?” it reeks of impatience and ignorance it’s infantile and yet at the same time full of so much hubris

Indeed. I’m all about moving quickly. But generally, thoughtful movements win over spastic outbursts. While making smoke from spinning tires looks cool, slow traction defeats gravity and moves things forward.

Yes, while I love accelerating my ass off from a green light in a beautiful BMW, I know I can’t simply have a heavy foot on my accelerator in every driving scenario. I have to moderate my driving in order to maintain the beauty of said BMW. Even then, I cannot control when some dipshit isn’t paying attention and smashes into me.
