As a digital art collector, I began exploring single-board computers like Raspberry Pi to extend my collection across multiple screens via single-purpose computers.

I discovered hardware limits when running computationally expensive digital collectibles. These technical minimums became fascinating constraints.

What is a single purpose computer? Computer jewelry? An art appliance? These questions led me to chase a minimum lovable product — one that does less, not more.

I've explored boards like Pico RP2040, RP2350, and ESP32 with MicroPython. In 2022, I made 'Sum' — translating ETH addresses into rings of hex colors.

Using Claude, I translated this to MicroPython. I was impressed by how easily I could collaborate with an AI partner that understood my abstract ideas.

After that success, I explored creating a bouncing DVD logo for Moonshot. The pairing of hardware and software minimums felt perfect.

This reminded me of David Reinfurt's "Six Prototypes for a Screensaver" — exhibiting vintage software as modern screensaver artworks.

As David noted, Brian Eno said: "the only interesting thing about computers is screensaver software." So I set out to create apps exploring screensaver history. Screensavers are like generative art — ancestral seeds for our realtime generative moment.
