The oloid is a geometric shape discovered by Paul Schatz in 1929. It is formed by the intersection of two congruent circular disks at right angles, with their centers separated by a distance equal to the radius of the disks. An oloid rolls smoothly on a flat surface while maintaining full contact with the surface at all times. This makes it a highly efficient rolling object.
