Florida is the second-largest solar market in the U.S. That means, when hurricanes hit the Sunshine State, a lot of panels get wrecked and end up piling up in landfills.

Maybe not for long. A new first-of-its-kind solar recycling plant is underway near Jacksonville that could turn a lot of that waste into a new domestic source of metals and materials set to face price hikes from tariffs.
