Lil Gnars was inspired by Thrasher Magazine’s “King of the Road” tournament and conceived as a lighter, kid-friendly version for families by @gnars legends @skateboard @bruno_piu33 @deathcat @dino.rec_ @renanmatic and @thejasper. The first Lil Gnars four-week tournament took place in summer 2024 and featured teams of young Brazilian skaters competing in a series of fun and difficult skateboarding challenges in Rio de Janeiro (see clips here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DBmjtSwv-V9/?igsh=MTV4bG1yeHloZ3VvNw==) Lil Gnars’ second event was planned and funded by Lil Nouns proposal and is currently in production. In advance of the second tournament, skater/artist Bruno Piu created special edition boards and stickers for the kids by combining @pip’s distinctive Lil Nouns branding with his own Gnars-inspired artistry. Bruno signed the decks with the names of those instrumental to spearheading Lil Gnars’ second iteration: @thejasper @deathcat @lilnouns and @gnars 🛹⌐◨-◨
