most powerpoint-voice ahhhh memoir I’ve read in a long time. the prose is dry, the metaphors are corporate, and yet… the message lands. there’s a kind of square sincerity here that feels almost radical now. reggie is the kind of guy who uses words like “consumers” and “value proposition” with zero irony. what makes it work is how perfectly cast he was: the normie-charismatic suit Nintendo needed to translate their weird Japanese magic into something American Walmart shoppers could understand. the advice can seem corny but it's true — take ownership, prepare obsessively, navigate politics without losing your soul. nothing groundbreaking, but sometimes plainspoken wisdom without performative edge is exactly what you need.
