If you're intellectually curious, you might consider reading JD Vance's memoir, Hillbilly Elegy. It was highly lauded by the NYT and other elite media after Trump won in 2016 (and JD had yet to enter politics). i read it when it came out (and enjoyed it!) but the tide had turned against the book (both critically and in popular culture) by the time the movie came out in 2020 no memory-hole required, it already happened four years ago

I haven’t read it, but generally had the impression that it was a worthwhile read when it came out but then the movie flopped, which was when Vance was verbally anti trump - guess time changes a lot I do intend to read up about Vance. I’ve tried to avoid RNC noise since it’s all been about Saturday night and I don’t care to give trump my time or attention right now
