the story begins as charming academic adventure in 1800s Oxford, but this cozy setting eventually gives way to something far more complex

incredibly readable despite its deep focus on the intricacies of translating language

strangely, today i received a letter from
oxford university alumni department. i had thought that as i had dropped out i wouldn’t be alumni so that was a nice surprise

I had to put this down a couple weeks ago (about 1/3 into it). It bored me to tears. Maybe I should give it a second chance?

Thank you for the recommendation just finished it today and really enjoyed it. The themes of otherness really hit home for me
