From '04 to '24, China added ~370m megawatt-hours of nuclear. To replace the added gas generation, we would've had to more than 3x China's nuclear program. That's a big number.

talking my bags, but Zanskar wrote a good post on why they work on geothermal energy. tl;dr for geothermal is unlike wind/solar it's 24-7 and unlike nuclear you can develop a new plant in a few years for <$100m. https://www.zanskar.com/blog/ourstory
